Not much mentioned in the film festival, Africa was nervertheless represented in Cannes, with Abdellatif Kechiche, of course, who is from Tunisia, with Chadian filmmaker Mahamat Saleh Haroun who presented the only African film 'Grigris', and with 'Zulu', a French film by Jerome Salle about South Africa.
Set in contemporary Capetown, it deals with violence by following two policemen, played by Orlando Bloom and Forest Whitaker.
The story comes from a novel by French crime novelist Caryl Férey.
